Abstract
Packaging is acknowledged as a significant factor in enhancing the
shelf life and marketability of fish, representing one of the most dynamic,
competitive, and evolving markets. Fish packaging is essential for maintaining
the quality and safety of seafood from harvest to consumption. This overview
delves into the evolving landscape of seafood packaging innovation, focusing on
its role in extending shelf life, preserving freshness, and ensuring safety.
Various preservation methods, including Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP),
Vacuum Packaging (VP), and Active Packaging (AP), are explored in detail.
