Fish diversity in aquatic ecosystems with emphasis on freshwater habitats: A review

Abstract
Freshwater ecosystem is one of the most diverse ecosystem on the earth.
Fishes constitute a valuable component of biological wealth in natural water
bodies. Fish provide high nutritional value as it contains protein, vitamins,
minerals and oil. Objective of these review work to understanding the structure
and composition of aquatic ecosystem, they provide valuable information on fish
species richness, distribution and ecological balance, and also support the
development of effective conservation and management strategies.
