Abstract
In India, molluscs species are exploited on a large scale for their commercial values. Molluscs get endangered due to overexploitation of scheduled species, illegal trade and because of their associated threats, requiring conservation priorities. About 24 species the molluscan species are considered as scheduled species, protected under WPA,1978. The data on the current status of Indian protected species of shells, landing, their life history is lacking. Their systematics is detailed in the manuscript.
